so i have been little lazy in updating my blog, mainly because its so much more easier to upload stuff on facebook or on instagram (btw if you want to follow me there https://instagram.com/solarfallbaits/) but i figured i would update stuff here too.
So i think firstly I'm going to start with a little unique project that i don't think i will ever do again since it turned out to be rather painful. So there is this band called Lifelover from Sweden and my facebook buddy wanted me to do a tribute lure for him as the band is no more active. So after brainstorming with him and tossing ideas back and forth i decided to take things little bit further than most lure makers would care to take their hobby and suggested him that i would use my own blood in the lure as the band was known for being rather bloody on stage. I got to say this was a pretty interesting experience, from a psychological stand point and the actual pain tolerance that it took to actually cut my self, but hey i took it as art and doing nutty stuff in the name of it is not that uncommon.
he's also a really big metal fan so he also wanted me to do something that smells like fire and brimstone and has a hellish theme to it, so naturally inverted crosses and pentagram eyes were just natural progression in making that lure.
next up we have a whole bunch of different kinds of pike flies, i also had a real eureka! moment when i started doing some experiemtns with a new type of coil lock system on my metal shank flies that i have been using for some time now, purely because i don't like tube flies that much.
so the coil lock now allows me to change hooks on my flies when they become dull or i just simply need a faster sinking fly or a fly that's almost hovering in the water, this way i get much more out from my flies and don't expensive waste materials just because of a damaged hook. and in over all i think I'm progressing with the fly tying too, my flies are starting to look pretty nice even if i say so my self.
And lastly heres some random lures i've done recently, first one is a Rudd swimmer that I've actually hand painted again for my own use, it took me roughly 2 days to get all the shadings and stuff looking decent, i think it came out pretty nice considering this is the second time I've done something like this. lastly there are few repaints that don't really call for any explanations, the pics should speak for them selfs.
